Large turn out for unveiling of the new South Bank Development

Business | Press | News

Over 100 people recently attended The South Bank Development Event at Peterborough United Football Club; organised by the Construction Best Practice Club and Cambridgeshire Chamber of Commerce.

The event provided companies from the construction industry, and wider business community, with the opportunity to hear first hand how the project is progressing, ideas timescales and to learn about the site and some of the challenges faced by Peterborough City Council and the East of England Development Agency.

Liz Wade, Head of Economic Development, Peterborough City Council, said: "The South Bank Development is an important opportunity for regeneration of land in Peterborough, it is clearly attracting a lot of interest and is an essential part of the overall plan for the city centre development."

Alistair Turner, Cambridgeshire Chamber of Commerce, said: "The redevelopment of the South Bank plays a fundamental part in Peterborough's future economic growth. We are delighted that this event has been such a success and look forward to providing continued support for the development as it progresses."

The event was sponsored by Fens Access, an exciting new project, managed by Cambridgeshire Chamber of Commerce on behalf of a collaborative partnership of key business support agencies.

Alan Mitcham, Project Director of Fens Access, said: "Up to 50 local companies have a fantastic opportunity to access high quality free advice that can help improve business performance whilst reducing waste, I would urge anyone interested in finding out more about Fens Access, and if their company is eligible, to contact Lindsey Smith at Cambridgeshire Chamber of Commerce on 01223 209817."
