Peterborough Chamber of Commerce has announced that this year’s
Business Focus exhibition will incorporate a Meet the Buyer event,
giving local businesses the opportunity to meet face-to-face with
key procurement personnel from leading public sector organisations
including Peterborough City Council.
The exhibition, which is the largest
of its kind in Peterborough, will also include a specialist seminar
delivered by Business Link East, which will teach businesses how to
give themselves the best possible chance of benefiting from local
procurement opportunities.
Helen Bosett, who is organising the
event on behalf of Peterborough Chamber of Commerce, said: “The
exhibition may still be a little over a month away but businesses
are needing little convincing that this is a prime opportunity to
bring their products to the forefront of the marketplace. The
support of Peterborough City Council in bringing public sector
procurement into the arena is definitely a major factor in the level
of interest we are experiencing this year. Businesses are queuing up
to meet the people at the heart of procurement in organisations such
as EEDA, the Fire Service, and Cambridgeshire’s county and district
councils.”
Brian Soanes, Managing Director of
co-organisers The Business Club, said: “In these more difficult
trading conditions Business Focus is a fantastic opportunity for
local go-ahead businesses to start moving forward again. The event
is totally focussed on making business connections – new customers,
new suppliers and re-affirming existing contacts. We are absolutely
determined to make this the best Business Focus ever. We organise
the event solely for the benefit of local business, encouraging them
to do business together and stimulate the local economy. The
inclusion this year of Meet the Buyer, with up to 10 public agencies
wanting to buy locally adds a new dimension to the event. It will
attract even more decision-makers to attend, directly increasing the
sales opportunities for exhibitors.”
This is the ninth year that the
event has been held in the city, with sponsors including
Peterborough City Council, Opportunity Peterborough, Business Link
East and Boongate Kia.
If you are looking to move your
business forward there are still a few stands available, call Lesley
