Chartered Institute of Wastes Management - Wastes Awareness
Certificate
6th December 2007
This one day nationally accredited course will help you
significantly reduce the amount of waste you send to landfill and
ensure you are complying with the new pre-treatment Waste Management
Regulations which came into force on 30th October 2007.
BeMs Manager Clare Turner explains,
‘…the new regulations mean that all businesses in England and Wales
must treat their non-hazardous waste before it ends up in landfill.
Research by the Environment Agency (EA) found more than one third of
SMEs were not appropriately disposing of their waste. These 1.6
million businesses will be breaking the law and face fines from the
EA if caught. This course is ideal for companies looking to ensure
they are in compliance, and who want to reduce their impact on the
environment, along with their operational costs.’
The cost of this course is £150,
or £100 to BeMS members.
Venue: The Green House, 4-6 Cowgate, Peterborough, PE1 1NA.
