Anne Corder Recruitment wins major council contract

Anne Corder Recruitment (ACR) has won the Peterborough City Council contract as preferred sole supplier for all temporary administrative and secretarial, accounts and IT positions.

The three-year contract is the next major step in the Park Road company’s on-going expansion plans.

“We are delighted the council has chosen to work with a local independent agency,” said Anne. “Our business has been providing both permanent and temporary placements across the region for the last 10 years and our knowledge and understanding of the local employment picture means we are well placed to provide the council with an efficient and cost-effective service.

“It is a very exciting time for ACR. The contract inevitably means an increased workload for our business. It forms part of our on-going plans to expand and and we have already taken on additional resources to support it.”

ACR recently doubled the size of its premises in Park Road, opposite Westgate House. It has been providing recruitment consultancy in the city for 10 years in which time its own workforce has doubled to cope with demand for its services.

Peterborough City Council’s Director of Strategic Resources, Chris Savory said: “We have a commitment to delivering services as efficiently as possible. We are a large organisation spending public money and it is our duty to harness our buying power to get better value for money and maintain the lowest council tax rates possible. We will be continuing our cost efficiency programme by developing similar deals in core areas such as telephony.”

ACR took part in a rigorous online auction bid for the business before being shortlisted for a stringent presentation process in front of the council’s evaluation panel. The contract is now live and will run for the next three years.
