A Gloucester based business has been fined £18,000 plus costs because
of the material they used to package their goods - and a warning had
gone out to Peterborough companies not to get caught as well.

Consultants has been keeping a close eye on the activities of Trading
Standards Officers around the country and wants to ensure they do not
swoop in this city.
He said: "A lot of companies donít
realise the size of the fines that can be levied by the Government if
they donít meet their packaging waste obligations.

"Sooner or later, companies will get the Trading Standards
Officers knocking at their door!"
Any firm producing over 50 tonnes of
packaging waste per year, and has a turnover of more than £2m, needs
to track its packaging waste to meet obligations.
Mr Bunday, recently elected as
chairman of the Posh chapter of Business Network International (BNI)
for the next six months is offering advice to any company that fears
it may be in danger.
